Dr. Susan M. Beatty holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Chemistry from Sonoma State University, a Ph.D. in Chemistry from The Pennsylvania State University, and an M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. She completed a Breast Imaging Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, she is a certified NLP Master Practitioner and hypnotist through the NLP Center of New York, a health coach trained with Wellcoaches, and a certified integrative nutrition health coach through The Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
After a brief career in research and teaching, Dr. Beatty practiced medicine in New York for 20 years, specializing in breast cancer diagnosis. However, her lifelong interest in the mind/body connection, sparked by early exposure to meditation and yoga in her childhood hometown of Ojai, California, profoundly influenced her life's path. She was introduced to these practices in 1968 and intermittently continued exploring them throughout her medical career as a means to manage stress and maintain balance.
In 2013, her journey took a transformative turn when she attended a silent meditation retreat at Gaia House in England. During this retreat, she discovered Qigong—a mindful movement practice that resonated deeply with her earlier experiences. A serendipitous encounter with Qigong and Taijiquan teachers in her community further solidified her commitment to integrating these practices into her daily life.
Today, Dr. Sue resides in Sarasota, Florida, an artsy Gulf Coast community, where she enjoys life with her husband and friends. Her passion for nutrition, cooking, and healing continues to be inspired by her early introduction to mind/body practices. These practices have become central to her philosophy of well-being, guiding her work as she supports others in cultivating self-awareness, resilience, and balance.
